A Message to Our Website Visitors...
To those customers who have seen us go from one tiny, cramped room to our "spacious" shop we now have, the answer to why we haven't offered on-line shopping or a catalogue is pretty clear.
To those who have not been lucky enough to come and visit us, come and sit for a moment...
Since it's beginning, Sheehan's has been a small, family-run business.
In the very beginning, a very small family-run business.
When I started at Sheehan's, over 8 years ago now, I was AMAZED when I first walked through the door. It was late November, the smell of wool and Irish tea permeated the air, and not an inch of the shop's 800 square feet was left bare. I honestly felt like I had walked into another time, in another country. Peggy was so warm, so welcoming, I knew I'd work for her "forever".
Over the past few years we have expanded, and we do boast now and again about our 4000 square feet of space and 7 rooms, all themed by the merchandise within. Even so, with all the space and ever-changing merchandise, Sheehan's is still very much a family store run by Peggy and her three daughters, Katy, Molly, and Maggie (and a few other lucky individuals).
With that said, it should also be explained that our website is meant to give visitors a small introduction to our shop. It's meant to lure you to visit Kansas City, and through our shop's bright yellow door. We often receive calls or correspondence asking us what we carry, and to answer completely would take quite a long time. My reply is often, "If you're coming this way any time soon, you really should just come in. You'll be amazed!"
So, please, forgive us for not having on-line ordering and no catalogue to send you. We'd love to have you call us if there is something specific you have in mind. We ship daily, and will gift wrap practically everything we carry! Our boxes, bags, and hand-made bows are well known in these parts, and expected by many!
